Building a site is a process

There are those that promise things like a ‘quick website’ or a ‘a site in a matter of minutes’. Don’t believe the hype.

Categories: Approach, How to and Usability

Here’s the catch.

Building a site - a good site - is a process. Sure, setting up a site can take a couple of minutes - we make that promise too. But building one? A good one? One that people want to come to? One that make people come back? One that encapsulates everything you or your business is about and one that people can find? That can take some time.

This is where Tank shines.

You see, we’ve managed to make the process of building a website easy - some would even call it fun. Adding new content is quick, managing and updating existing content is a breeze. Sure, we do focus on content quite heavily and I’m sure some of you are thinking design - we’ll get to that in another post. Why do we focus so heavily on content? In a nutshell without fresh, relevant content your site isn’t worth much. There are two reasons for this.

  1. Your users enjoy fresh, relevant content
  2. Google enjoys it too

Imagine managing your content with an app that makes the process fun and easy. You find yourself returning to your site more often, you find yourself updating your site with content more often, you find your site improving, slowly and gradually over time. This is the way good sites get built. Those end-result sites people are always looking at and going ‘I want that to be my site’. Those sites that took a bit longer than a couple of minutes to build.

Welcome to the right way to build your website.

Welcome to Tank. Enjoy your stay: you might want to be here for a while.

we have a website for our small company SP NX that we want to be developed. Our current web address is http://www.spnx.co.za. We want a website where we can put most of the documents for easy access by our subscribers. We require ongoing communication with them and a lot of other matters. We have heard that you can assist us in this regard. We would also want to know what the costs are.
