New feature: public and private sites

The recent introduction of the activity tagcloud led to an unforeseen eventuality: any site you create and work on will automatically be linked from our site whether that was your intention or not.

If you are anything like us you might enjoy a little privacy while you are working on your new project. This, coupled with a couple of requests for this feature, kicked us into gear to introduce two site types: public sites and private sites.

Eyes only

A regular tank site starts off as a public site - this means anyone can view the site and only the users you select can edit it. A private site means only the users you select can view and edit the site.

In other words users need to log-in to see a private site: a small change that could make all the difference in how you approach development and deployment of tank sites. Easily and quickly put together a company intranet, password protect content or keep things to yourself while you are working on it. This feature is immediately available to all sites via the Advanced Config tab.

We look forward to what you build with this new feature, if only you allow us to look.
